Mickey Uphold
Mickey Uphold is the founder of The Journey Coach. His passion for coaching and development started while he was serving in the United States Air Force. Mickey recognized a need for new soldiers to develop their mindsets before entering military life. Identifying the gaps between civilian and military life, he established what is now a required training by all military branches called “The Student Flight”. This program awarded him the Air Force Achievement Medal for outstanding leadership and service to the country.
After the military Mickey became a National Leadership and Development Coach for U.S. Cellular. Over a 15-year career he was able to duplicate his leadership coaching across the nation exceeding milestones of sales through skills and professional development.
Mickey is a certified John Maxwell speaker, trainer, and coach, certified life coach, certified Franklin Covey coach, NLP certified Neurodiversity Coach and completed his Doctorate in Divinity in 2019. Today, Mickey is continuing to pursue his full-time coaching by joining Rise Staffing Team as a Neurodiversity Employment Coach. Mickey has two sons that are both on the spectrum who are his inspiration to embrace and build the neurodiverse community. With his extensive background in coaching, he realized that combining coaching principles into each stage of a person’s journey, he could meet the needs of his clients at any stage of the journey they are on including Executive, Life, Business, Behavior, Team, Mental Health, Mindset, Growth, and now Neurodiverse Employment Coaching.
When he’s not coaching, Mickey offers his time as the President of the board at The Griffin Promise Autism Clinic where his sons attended for the last 12 years.
